Scholarship Needs

Miami is emphasizing four scholarship support areas that are critical to the University’s recruitment success and the overall quality of Miami’s student body:

Need-Based—While three-fourths of Miami students receive some form of financial assistance and one-in-six qualify for federal Pell Grants, the University is able to meet only a fraction of the growing student financial need that exists. This is the University’s greatest need.

Merit-Based—The University aims to strengthen its ability to attract the best and brightest students from Ohio, the region and nationally through competitive scholarship support.

Diversity—Miami’s commitment to achieving a diverse student body is critical to enriching the experience of all students. Scholarship support for diversity assists Miami’s efforts to welcome more students from diverse backgrounds.

University Academic Scholars—The University Academic Scholars Program offers Miami’s brightest and most accomplished students unparalleled opportunities to enhance their undergraduate experience in one of 13 distinct academic and professional areas of interest, ranging from business and engineering to education and social justice.
