The Miami Foundation Board of Directors is committed to donors having an extraordinary philanthropic experience and consistently strives to ensure donor wishes are observed and gifts are used for the purpose stated by the donors. The Foundation Board of Directors adopted this policy as an expression of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to fulfilling donors’ gift intent.

From July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, Miami raised more than $56 million in new gifts and pledges. From the previous year, parents and friends increased their giving by 20 percent and alumni by 8 percent.
“Miami University's alumni and friends continue to support the institution at an astonishing pace and the impact is profound,” Vice President for University Advancement Tom Herbert said. “With the palpable excitement about President Greg Crawford’s arrival, we will carry this enthusiasm in the coming year and continue to reach even greater heights.”
Some of the Fiscal Year 2016 notables include:
Raising $30.3 million toward the $100 million Miami Promise Scholarship Campaign, surpassing an $18 million yearly goal and putting the two-year total at $50 million;
Bringing the Graduating Champions Campaign fundraising total to $57.7 million (72 percent of its $80 million goal);
Garnering more than $4 million from nearly 30,000 Annual Giving donors;
Raising nearly $50,000 from the Senior Class Gift effort, endowing the Class of 2016 Scholarship and increasing the participation rate to an impressive 39 percent this year;
Securing 50 percent of contributions from alumni, followed by parents and friends (35 percent), and corporations, foundations and other organizations (15 percent).
