License Plates

License Plate Program

Step up to the plate...

Display your Miami pride with a RedHawks Ohio license plate!

Purchasing these plates shows your pride in alma mater and provides Miami with additional funds to help support students. $25 of the $35 annual plate fee directly supports academic scholarship for Miami students in the name of Ohio alumni. Note: Due to a change in privacy policies at the Ohio BMV, Miami will no longer receive information regarding the purchase of Miami plates, and therefore is unable to issue tax receipts. Please keep a copy of your BMV receipt for your tax records.

IT's EASY! Select the method that's most convenient for you:

  • Go to your local Ohio BMV branch and ask for the MIAMI UNIVERSITY collegiate license plate.
  • Go online: www.OPlates.com
  • Call 1-888-PLATES-3
  • Print out and complete this application and mail to the BMV (information on form).
  • Check that you will allow Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to send us your name because Miami wants to make sure we stay in contact with you.

You may exchange your current plates for collegiate plates any time between registration periods. Credit will be given for registration and permissive taxes already paid.

Alumni Feedback

I've just received the Block M plates for my new SUV. These are the best license plates I've ever had, a real statement of "Love and Honor!" I'd encourage all alumni to support their alma mater in this way.
Best regards,
Pamela Chambers Shoffner B.S.'64; M.Ed.'67
