Hosted at the Miami Regionals campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, STEAM Studio consists of seven weeks of summer day camps. These camps offer cutting-edge curricula and deep learning opportunities for students in 2nd through 10th grade to imagine, design, and bring ideas to life through interactive, problem-solving activities.
STEAM Studio addresses national challenges with local impact: the underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM fields, the need for engaging summer educational programming for those in underserved school districts, and aids in the conceptualization of STEM principles.
STEAM Studio Growth in 2023
- STEAM Studio welcomed 381 future innovators from 70 school districts, reaching as far as San Diego, up from 290 campers in 2022.
- 45% (171 campers) needed and received financial assistance.
- Registrations of campers identifying as female increased by 63% year over year, bringing STEAM Studio closer to its goal of gender equity.
Beyond creating a passion for science, STEAM Studio caregivers also commented on the camp’s ability to help their child with social and personal development, including teamwork, building confidence and independence, and making new friends.
Caregiver testimonials include:
“Every day the kids come home super excited about whatever they did. I would be like, what did you do at school? Normally, they wouldn't have told me anything. But when we came to the camp, they were just non-stop talking.”
“The best part is, if he ever did get overwhelmed, I feel safe because he’s like, ‘Oh yeah, I got a little overwhelmed, but the [program staff] knew what to do. She made me feel safe.’”
In 2024, STEAM Studio is on pace to serve more than 500 participants. Please donate to support this growing program and tomorrow’s future.
