The Department of Music showcases #ThrivingArtists of all disciplines and encourages its students to develop their relationship to the discipline of music as they explore the world through the lens of a superb liberal arts education. The Department of Music prepares students to excel as performers, educators, composers, entrepreneurs, and patrons of the musical arts. Whether you aspire to make music your profession or simply participate in music classes and activities, you have a place here. There are several opportunities to support the Department of Music below:

Marching Band

This fund can be used at the discretion of the band director for immediate expenses that are needed to help the band succeed. This year the fund will help us take the field again after not being able to perform last year. We aim to provide a great experience for the 2023 football season for new and returning members for the MUMB!

Men's Glee Club

In 2022, Glee Club announced its campaign, the March to a Million as we march to $1 million in endowment funds, an unimaginable figure for an organization that had no endowment at all not so long ago. Our plan is to celebrate this monumental success at the Glee Club’s Home Concert in the spring of 2024. We enter this annual campaign with three goals: to reach 200 individual donors, to raise $20,000 and to reach 10 sustaining donors in the 1907 Tradition of Excellence Circle. All gifts to Miami University Men’s Glee Club are greatly appreciated. With the increasing costs of performing, touring, concert attire and other annual needs, each gift makes a difference to the Glee Club. Your gift to the Glee Club is a gift to Miami and helps benefit the student’s overall Miami Experience. Your support also helps sustain the traditions and aspirations of the Glee Club as a world-class men’s choral organization.

Opera Program

Miami Opera Theater has won four national awards, confirming our long tradition of success. Donations will help us ensure that these experiences of excellence continue serving our students well into the future.

Vocal Arts Fund

Miami Vocal Arts is an exciting part of the growth of our voice program at Miami. Whether an educator, singer, arts administrator, or lawyer, alumni feel strongly that their education in the voice program at Miami was an important start to their success. Donations will allow Vocal Arts at Miami continue to thrive, funding master classes, special projects and performances, and competitive scholarship opportunities.
